The artist, the inspiration and the story behind Paintomic.
A NOTE FROM THE CREATOR
Work made
by human hands.
I’m Miguel Tanco, an author, illustrator and teacher. I created Paintomic to support the work we make with our own hands: drawing, painting, looking closely and learning together.

01 / WHY THE PAINTOMIC APP ?
Another tool
on your worktable.
My intention is simple: to create tools that help us make more work ourselves. Digital technology has a place in that process when it becomes one more working instrument, alongside our paints, brushes, paper and canvas.
A tool can help us compare a color, understand a value, simplify a shape or prepare a palette. What matters is what we do with that information: the decisions we make, the marks we leave and the experience we gain through practice.
I want Paintomic to encourage that kind of work. Work rooted in attention, curiosity and the pleasure of making something with our own hands.
02 / GO OUTSIDE
Observe the world.
Paint. Draw. Meet.
Whatever kind of work you do as an artist, go outside. Look at the world around you. Paint and draw from what you see.
Meet other artists, students and mentors. Work side by side, share your questions and discoveries, and learn from one another. I would like Paintomic to help make those experiences happen.
